India's Armed Forces Prepare for Complex Future Challenges: Army Chief's Call on Kargil Vijay Diwas

Drass (Ladakh), Jul 26 : Speaking at the 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas held at the Kargil War Memorial, Army Chief General Manoj Pande emphasized that the armed forces will face increasingly complex dangers and challenges in the future, urging India to be prepared to confront them.



General Pande addressed the reporters and highlighted the need for the armed forces to be proactive in preparing for the potential challenges ahead. "The dangers and challenges before us are likely to become more intricate in the future, and we must be ready," he asserted.


He further stressed that the armed forces have been working on developing adaptive, resilient, and responsive processes. His vision is to transform the Indian Army into a technology-enabled and future-ready force, capable of effectively dealing with security challenges.



During his speech, the Army chief also took a moment to honor the memory of the soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil war. Operation Vijay was a formidable and high-intensity military operation conducted in challenging terrains, which were under enemy control. General Pande commended the Air warriors for their significant contribution to achieving the final objectives of the operation.


The Kargil War was a crucial event where the Indian Armed Forces displayed incredible courage and determination in pushing back Pakistani forces that had stealthily occupied strategic heights in Ladakh. The soldiers fought under extreme weather conditions, ultimately securing victory for India in the Drass, Kargil, and Batalik Sectors.



Kargil Vijay Diwas is observed annually to commemorate India's triumph over Pakistan in the Kargil War.In remembrance of the fallen heroes, the Army chief paid tribute by laying a wreath at the Kargil War Memorial during the event.
