Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese counterpart, Pushpa Dahal 'Prachanda,' engaged in bilateral talks at Hyderabad House on Thursday. During his visit, Prachanda paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat and laid a wreath. The bilateral discussions between the two Prime Ministers provided an opportunity to discuss various aspects of the multifaceted relationship between the two countries. Additionally, Prachanda also met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

The visit of Nepal's Prime Minister includes official engagements as well as visits to Ujjain and Indore. It serves as an occasion to build upon the successes achieved in the bilateral partnership between India and Nepal during previous high-level visits, including Prime Minister Deuba's visit to New Delhi in April 2022 and Prime Minister Modi's visit to Lumbini in May 2022.

Prachanda's visit is seen as a goodwill visit, which is expected to further strengthen the close and unique relationship between Nepal and India. Nepal's ambassador to India, Shankar P. Sharma, expressed optimism that the visit will elevate bilateral relations to new heights.

Overall, the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Prachanda aimed to deepen the ties and cooperation between India and Nepal, fostering a stronger partnership between the two neighboring countries.
