Jaipur Express Tragedy: RPF Constable Fatally Shoots Colleague and Passengers on Mumbai-Bound Train

In a tragic incident on Monday, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable committed an appalling act on the Mumbai-bound Jaipur Express Train near Palghar railway station in Maharashtra. According to witnesses, the constable, identified as Chetan Kumar, shot his colleague, resulting in the colleague's death. Shockingly, he then held passengers at gunpoint and went on to fatally shoot three of them.


After the shooting, Chetan Kumar jumped off the train near Dahisar railway station in an attempt to escape, but he was later apprehended by authorities along with the weapon used in the heinous act.


Western railways spokesperson stated that the motive behind the shooting is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway. The tragic incident occurred at around 5:23 am on the train's B5 coach, and the constable was taken into custody when the train reached Bhyander.


The incident has left at least four people dead, including the ASI Tika Ram and three passengers. The bodies were removed from the train at Borivali station, and the accused RPF constable is now in custody.
