Mumbai: Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan took to Twitter on Saturday to extend birthday wishes to Jr NTR, the star of the blockbuster film RRR. In his tweet, Hrithik dropped a major hint about their potential collaboration in War 2, which would mark their first project together.
Hrithik not only wished Jr NTR in Telugu but also mentioned meeting him on the "battlefield." He wrote, "Happy Birthday @tarak9999! Wishing you a joyous day and an action-packed year ahead. Awaiting you on the yuddhabhumi (battlefield) my friend. May your days be full of happiness and peace...until we meet (wink emoji). Puttina Roju Subhakankshalu Mitrama (happy birthday, my dear friend)."
Jr NTR also responded to Hrithik's tweeting
"Thanks for the wishes Hrithik garu ❤️ "
Fans of both actors expressed their excitement and anticipation for their collaboration. Many responded to Hrithik's tweet, expressing their gratitude for the wishes and eagerly waiting for the movie. Social media also saw the circulation of a fan-made poster and teaser featuring Hrithik and Jr NTR in action-packed scenes from their previous films.
While the official confirmation from Yash Raj Films about Jr NTR's involvement in War 2 is still pending, the announcement of the film last month indicated that it would be the seventh installment in the YRF Spy Universe and a continuation of the events in Tiger 3, which stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji of Brahmastra fame, will mark Hrithik's return as Major Kabir Dhaliwal. Siddharth Anand, the director of the original War, has delivered another blockbuster, Pathaan, and is currently working on his next film, Fighter, with Hrithik.
