Australia continued to dominate the World Test Championship final at The Oval, extending their lead to 296 runs with 6 wickets remaining in the second innings, despite India's valiant efforts on Day 3.

The day began with Australia resuming their first innings at a formidable total of 469 runs. Travis Head's magnificent knock of 163, accompanied by Steve Smith's century (121) and Alex Carey's contribution of 48 runs, propelled Australia's innings. The Indian bowlers, including Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur, showed determination by picking up crucial wickets.

In response, India displayed resilience in their first innings. Ajinkya Rahane led the charge with a well-crafted 89 runs, providing a glimmer of hope for the team. Shardul Thakur's fighting half-century (51) and Ravindra Jadeja's valuable 48 runs contributed to India's total of 296 runs. Pat Cummins spearheaded the Australian bowling attack with three wickets.

India's pacers came alive in the second innings, delivering inspiring spells.
